The N56 Dungloe to Glenties Road Project

The N56 Dungloe to Glenties Road Project, which involves approx. 26km of new road construction and separate cycle/ pedestrian facilities, is planned to be delivered by the Council over the next 5 to 10 years. It is one of four pilot projects nationwide for a new road type being developed for use on lightly trafficked national roads in environmentally sensitive and scenic areas on the west coast of the
country. These projects offer a unique opportunity to involve a wide variety of stakeholders in the development of an art project. During the period of this Plan the Council will liaise with the relevant stakeholders with the objective of agreeing a common approach to the art project for the four pilot projects.
